I recently purchased the SB5101 modem to replace an ailing Toshiba I’ve been using for the last six years. I would not be writing this comment if not for the local fire chief is a partial charlatans in a recent fundraising church. Please lend me your ear while I explain. The local Catholic Church (Our Lady of Perpetual Bliss and crying Ghost of the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe), held its annual party to raise funds for summer and me being the pious Christian felt compelled to attend and pass large amounts of money on food greasy and cheap Mexican handicrafts that are broadcast by the local population of illegal immigrants. One of the many ways to separate cash from one person was in the form of a silent auction. If you are unfamiliar with the term is a form of combat in which a person finds a product they want to own, write your name and bid on a sheet of paper annexed to that heading, and then hiding behind the issue defends an object larger or “camping” with which nobody outbiding or intimidating topic and comes near him. It was at this silent auction I came across a box and pretends to be a Motorola SB5101 surfboard cable modem, the modem very present review. . . comments. No doubt this was a sign of our Savior Jesus Christ, Son of God who died and was buried and rose again, that sci-fi stuff! He knew he needed a new modem capable of 30mbs download speed, support for up to 32 users and fully two DOCSIS. 0 compatible. I placed my bid and prayed that this modem well be mine. Behold, when the auction ended it was I who was the proud owner of this very table. So, I have this table, because when I opened the box, then to dispose of 20 dollars, and in the comfort of my home, I slapped in the face by the vision of a Toshiba cable modem, I was the very model trying to exorcise from my house! After several frantic phone calls I was able to track the “donor” of the item. It was nothing less than F **** M **********, Fire Chief of our city well! I was shocked and appalled that such a respected member of society stoop to minimum and improving their own modem and leave feces in a local church ready to be signed by a tightwad like me. After cursing him and his descendants I connect to Amazon. com with my pitiful excuse for a cable modem and bought a new SB5101. It seems that the behavior has increased, but curiously does not seem to streaming porn much faster. The standby button is more annoying than useful, especially with children. In general, I would say that the modem works as expected, but if you have a shitty connection not expect miracles. Rating: 3 / 5

I can not believe I spent hours trying to make this thing work with a router, any router. In fact, I own three routers, links and Apple 2 d 1, and will not work with any of them. According to the documentation, the modem requires an Ethernet crossover cable (which is quite unusual in itself). I tried two different new brands crossover cables plus three regular Ethernet cables and that just does not work. This setup worked perfectly before installing the new modem cable (my first modem D-Link died.) Unless your cable company forces him in the throat, or if you never plan to add a router, I recommend staying away from it. I’m returning mine tonight. Rating: 1 / 5

Unfortunately, I’m not happy with this product. I called Time Warner, my internet provider and told them I had purchased my own cable modem, which is the exact model you have been leasing them. They had me hook it up, while on the phone with them, and after recording the serial number needed, we could not make it work, trying everything he could think of the gentleman and he put his adviser, and he could not get work. Therefore, I suggested trying to connect your modem that was released and, indeed, it worked immediately. Thus, cable modem, brand new box send it to me, did not work. I had no idea how to return the item to send the rebate slip for $ 20 that I would not be out $ 50 is the cost of purchase. Not a very happy customer in this producto.Elaine Meyer Rating: 1 / 5

My cable company Cox Communications recommends this modem support, so I would not have to rent one. However, he had no phone jack to connect my modular phone cord, as in the rent. Oops! Rating: 3 fifths
